For the purposes of data protection, BHire is the data processor for candidate data (acting on behalf of HR users who are data controllers) and the data controller for HR user account data.

03 How We Use Your Data

We use the data we collect to:

  • Provide the service: Create and manage assessments, generate AI questions, compute scores and Trust Scores.
  • Authentication: Verify your identity when you log in.
  • Improve the platform: Analyse usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features (anonymised where possible).
  • Communicate with you: Send service-related emails such as result reports and account notifications.
  • Legal compliance: Maintain records as required by applicable Indian law.

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it for any purpose other than delivering the BHire service.

04 How Data Is Stored

BHire is currently in pilot phase and uses a lightweight architecture:

  • HR signup data is stored in Google Forms responses, which land in a Google Sheet accessible only to BHire administrators.
  • Session data (your name, email, HR ID) is stored in your browser's localStorage — it stays on your device.
  • Assessment data and results are stored in your browser's localStorage and optionally submitted to a Google Form for backup.
  • Resumes uploaded during assessments may be stored in Google Drive if the HR user has configured Drive integration.

All Google services used are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Data stored in Google Sheets/Drive is located on Google's servers, which may include data centres outside India.

05 Third-Party Services

BHire integrates with the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:

  • Google (Forms, Sheets, Drive, Fonts): Used for data storage, authentication data, file storage, and typography. Google Privacy Policy →
  • Anthropic (Claude API): Used to generate personalised assessment questions and hiring recommendations. Resume text and job description content may be sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic Privacy Policy →
  • face-api.js (CDN): Used for face-detection proctoring during candidate tests. Models are loaded from jsDelivr CDN. No facial images are sent to any external server — detection runs entirely in the candidate's browser.

We minimise the data shared with third parties to only what is necessary to provide the service.

06 Candidate Data & Proctoring

BHire conducts automated proctoring during assessments to maintain test integrity. Candidates are informed of proctoring before starting any test. Proctoring includes:

  • Webcam photograph: A single photo is taken at test start to verify identity. This is stored locally in the HR user's browser and may be exported to Google Drive if configured.
  • Tab-switch detection: The number of times the candidate leaves the test tab is logged.
  • Fullscreen monitoring: Any exit from fullscreen mode is logged.
  • Copy-paste detection: Attempts to copy content or use right-click menus are logged.
  • Face detection: Face-api.js checks periodically whether a face is present in the webcam feed. This runs locally — no video stream is recorded or transmitted.

All proctoring data is used solely to compute the candidate's Trust Score and is disclosed to the HR user who issued the assessment. Candidates should be made aware of this by the HR user before starting the test.

07 Data Retention

HR account data in Google Sheets is retained until you request deletion.

Assessment and result data stored in browser localStorage is retained until you clear your browser data or explicitly delete it from the dashboard.

Candidate data should not be retained longer than necessary for the recruitment cycle. HR users are responsible for deleting candidate data after a decision is made and any mandatory retention period has passed.

To request deletion of your account or any associated data, email hello@bhire.in. We will process requests within 30 days.

08 Your Rights

Under applicable Indian data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
  • Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format where technically feasible.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@bhire.in with the subject line "Data Rights Request". We will acknowledge your request within 72 hours and respond fully within 30 days.

09 Cookies & Local Storage

BHire does not use tracking cookies. The platform uses your browser's localStorage to store your session (name, email, HR ID) so you remain logged in between page visits. This data stays entirely on your device and is never transmitted to us.

Google Fonts (used for typography) may set a cookie in your browser. This is governed by Google's cookie policy.

You can clear all BHire data from your browser by going to Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Local storage in your browser. This will log you out.

10 Children's Privacy

BHire is intended for use by HR professionals and adult job candidates (18 years and older). We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18. If you believe a minor has provided data through our platform, contact us immediately at hello@bhire.in and we will delete it promptly.

11 Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect the data on our platform, including:

  • HTTPS for all data in transit.
  • Restricted access to Google Sheets data (visible only to BHire administrators).
  • No plaintext passwords stored on BHire's own servers (credentials go directly to Google's infrastructure via Google Forms).

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. BHire is a pilot-phase product and is not certified to enterprise security standards. We recommend not using BHire for assessments involving highly sensitive personal data until a production-grade infrastructure is in place.

If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to hello@bhire.in.

12 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated to registered users by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.

Continued use of BHire after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
